Claire’s visit to Honest to Goodness Market in Glasnevin
Popping into Honest to Goodness Market in Glasnevin on a Saturday is always a highlight for me or any member of my team. It is just located up the road from our kitchens on Constitution Hill. The place is always full of makers from butchers, bakers, fruit and vegetable growers, fishmongers, cooks and chefs, chocolatiers, purveyors of fine wine, ripe olives and good cheese plus not to mention the array of local craft people of pottery, flowers, and candles. What we especially love about this vibrant place is meeting a new stall holder every time we visit. Talking to someone who is passionate about food and customer service like us keeps our business alive. We get to meet potential new suppliers of ours which would compliment our menus and service.
Honest to Goodness is where we met Karen and Natalie Keane of Bean and Goose Chocolates who supply us with chocolate bars and truffles for a variety of weddings, family celebrations and high–end corporate events. Although Karen and Natalie are not at Honest to Goodness anymore, you can purchase their chocolate in many independent coffee shops and grocery stores around Ireland or on their beautiful website beanandgoose.ie.
We also get to catch up with current suppliers like Arun Bakery who is one of our bread makers. Vlad and his team has been supplying our restaurant Hanley at the bar and kitchen at King’s Inns for a couple of years now with a variety of bread and buns.
